A Russian missile strike on port infrastructure in Odesa on May 26 killed two people and injured eight others, Ukrainian news sources reported.
One of the victims was a 71-year-old resident who later died in the hospital, while the other was a port worker. Two ballistic missiles were used, damaging key port infrastructure and destroying several vehicles and equipment.
Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper extended condolences to the victims’ families and emphasized the strike’s impact on a civilian facility vital to global food security.
Medical officials noted that four of the injured remain in serious condition, with others receiving moderate or minor injuries. Authorities urged the public to take air raid alerts seriously and seek shelter during sirens.
