On 2 June, the tanker Gorizont-1 collided with the Columbia pier at the Kazan River Port, located on the Volga River in Kazan, Russia.
The vessel sustained damage to its bow section above the waterline but remained stable, with no injuries or oil pollution reported and river traffic continued without disruption.
Furthermore, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident. As reported, Russia’s regional Transport Prosecutor’s Office also is inspecting the case regarding potential violations of navigation safety regulations and has stated that appropriate legal action will be taken if any non-compliance is found.
