Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) and the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 26 May to renew both organizations’ commitment in building a talent development pool for the maritime industry.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the talent pipeline for the maritime industry and support the development of young maritime professionals. As part of this effort, Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) will sponsor up to three MaritimeONE scholarships and at least three MaritimeONE internships annually from 2025 to 2027.
In addition to scholarships and internships, PCL will support other SMF initiatives under the MaritimeONE program, offering youth immersive and experiential learning opportunities.
Chubasco Antonio Monteiro, Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Fleet Director, Pacific Carriers Limited, underscored that this is a shared commitment to cultivating a future-ready maritime workforce.
He continued by highlighting that working with MaritimeONE scholars has shown how young professionals can grow and contribute meaningfully to the sector and affirmed that PCL is dedicated to supporting this growth by investing in emerging maritime talent.
The signing of the MOU between Pacific Carriers Limited and Singapore Maritime Foundation marks a collective commitment in our shared goal to build a talent pipeline for the industry, and builds on PCL’s steadfast support over the years.
